About this websiteThe Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Group developed as part of the National Centre for Health Outcomes Development (NCHOD). From 1998-2005, it was funded by the Department of Health through NCHOD. From 2005-2008, it was funded by the NHS Information Centre for health and social care. Based in the Unit of Health-Care Epidemiology at the University of Oxford, the group has established a number of important resources focussing on patient-reported health outcomes – see Home page. The bibliographic database included in this website was first published in 2002, funded by the Department of Health, and it was further developed with DH funding to 2005. In 2005, it became the property of the NHS Information Centre for health & social care. The most recent bibliographic update is current to December 2005. No further updates were funded and none are planned. The bibliographic database is hosted by the University of Oxford and owned by the Information Centre. The website was last updated April 2008. Funding is unavailable for further development. About the PROM groupThe PROM Group is a multidisciplinary team under the direction of Professor Ray Fitzpatrick of the Department of Public Health and Primary Care, Medical Sciences Division, University of Oxford. Its work continues and flourishes with research funding (see satellite website, under development). Collaborators include clinical specialists, research bodies such as the Royal College of Nursing Institute (RCNI), and charities such as the Picker Institute Europe, which has a leading role in research into patient experiences, and healthtalkonline, which has developed a unique website on personal experiences of health and illness. |
